SAEON’s Science Education Outreach Coordinator, Sibongile Mokoena participated in a science education exchange initiative between the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York.

The science education outreach delegation of eight was made up of representatives from all the NRF research facilities.

The purpose of the exchange was to review the AMNH education support programmes with a view to possible long-term collaboration. The AMNH education team put together an excellent itinerary for the visit.

Back home, the task of the NRF Team is to explore the potential to adapt and implement the AMNH science education programmes.

There is an opportunity for the SAEON education outreach team to register for online courses as part of the collaboration.
