SAEON's launch of two environmental change publications in Stellenbosch this month resulted in media coverage:

- on national TV;

- on national and regional radio; 

- articles in Cape Times, Cape Argus, Green Times and Landbouweekblad, and

- a blog by umaymah_at_ecoafrica.co.za

 

An article titled Algoa Bay the best-monitored in all of Africa appeared in Herald of 21 July. The article describes SAEON’s long-term monitoring project in Algoa Bay .

An article titled Argo Outreach activities in South Africa, dealing with the use of Argo floats in the SAEON Egagasini Node’s education outreach programme appeared in the July edition of Argonautics, the newsletter of the international Argo project.

An article on SAEON’s involvement in the Nairobi Convention Clearinghouse appeared in the latest edition of SANCOR eNews (Issue 1950). The article was written by Fiona Cuff, Database Support Contractor of SAEON’s Egagasini Node.

An article titled Robot reveals secrets of the deep by Lara Rall appeared in Grocott's Mail Online. The article deals with the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) recently used by SAEON and SAIAB scientists in Sodwana Bay to conduct fish surveys, collect invertebrates, survey coelacanth habitats and to find and film the coelacanths.

SAEON was referred to in an article entitled Unique study of great whites in Herald of 22 June 2011.
