Honorary appointment for SAEON’s Dr George Chirima

Dr George Chirima, Landscape Ecologist at SAEON’s Ndlovu Node has been offered a three-year position as Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Animal, Plant, and Environmental Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).

The appointment is in recognition of his "expertise in research into various projects, (his) contribution to the School and (his) professional eminence". George will be required to produce joint publications, lecture, carry out student assessments, and present seminars at Wits from time to time.

In response George commented: "I believe this is an excellent opportunity to enhance my research interests and collaboration with Wits researchers, and I look forward to benefiting from their vast library resources."
