It has come to that time of the year when 'old' members of SAEON’s Graduate Student Network (GSN) committee get ready to retire. This means it is time for new committee members to be elected.

This presents an exciting opportunity for GSN members to hone their ability to showcase ideas, gain experience in event coordination and management, as well as develop their leadership skills as they become more involved in the committee and with SAEON as an organisation.

The GSN committee seeks three highly motivated members of the GSN to become committee members.

The GSN committee seeks three highly motivated members of the GSN to become committee members. Essentially, being a committee member entails steering the GSN, attending committee meetings with SAEON representatives, networking with fellow committee members and SAEON as well as organising the annual SAEON GSN Indibano.

GSN members are encouraged to send their declarations of interest to gsn@saeon.ac.za before Friday, 14 December 2012. Successful candidates will be notified early in January 2013 and voting will commence shortly thereafter.

The election process is democratic. Candidates are judged on the information they provide, which includes a motivation for being involved in steering the GSN. Committee members serve for a term of two years.
